Small-molecule tools for chemical biology and drug discovery

Our research goal is to develop and apply small-molecule tools to identify and characterize proteases and metal ions involved in mitochondrial physiology, and to expand these tools toward biomarker discovery and drug target identification for Alzheimer’s disease and cancers.

Lab Updates

2026.07.01 Lab website migration complete. The Drug Target and Biomarker Discovery Laboratory website has been successfully migrated to Quarto and GitHub Pages.

Research Areas

Activity-Based Probes

We develop activity-based probes to monitor enzyme function in cells, animals, and disease models, with particular interest in proteases relevant to neurodegenerative diseases.

Molecular Biomarker Discovery and Fluorescent Probe Development

We design chemical tools and fluorescent probes to detect disease-associated molecular activities and support biomarker discovery.

Peptidomimetic Transporters

We develop peptoid and peptidomimetic scaffolds for organelle targeting and intracellular delivery of biologically active cargos.
